Woman vows to continue her obstruction of Council staff at Ballyvolane Halting Site

A Cork mother has vowed to continue her obstruction of council staff at a Ballyvolane halting site until her eight-year wait for social housing comes to an end. Sarah McCarthy began her protest yesterday when she refused to give council workers access to a shed adjacent to her property which supplies electricity to a number of the site’s dwellings. It's understood that Cork City Council obtained court injunctions to evict a number of residents of the halting site so improvement works could be carried out. Gardaí were called to the site yesterday when the mum of two locked herself in her car which is physically obstructing access. Speaking to RedFM News Sarah says she's fed up of being ignored: Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
