Work continuing today on getting the HSE's IT system back up and running

Hospitals across the country have been forced to cancel procedures due to a ransomware attack on Friday
Radiology services and X-Rays are the worst hit services while chemotherapy and dialysis are continuing as normal.
Labour Leader Alan Kelly says concerns were raised about the health of the computer systems a number of years ago:
During my period doing the Sláinte care report, it was quite obvious that the IT infrastructure across the HSE was not up to scratch, certainly wasn't up to the standards required. We all know that throughout the process by which the vaccinations have been ongoing, the HSE were not able to tell us who was in each cohort, they weren't able to analyse the volume of people in each cohort and that's because the IT infrastructure wasn't up to it.
