Youghal Clock Gate Tower opens its doors for the first time in 20 years
Following 10 years of renovation the building will now remain open as a visitor attraction as part of Ireland's Ancient East
Youghal Clock Gate Tower finally opened it's doors as a tourist attraction yesterday.
It's taken 10 years for the project to be finished, and the people of Youghal were able to take a look inside the iconic building for the first time in 20 years.
The building will now remain open as a visitor attraction as part of Ireland's Ancient East, and it's hoped that many thousands of domestic and international tourists will be able to take part in the interactive tours.
The building has a history spanning 600 years, and will bring a much needed boost to the economy of the seaside town.
Speaking to RedFM News Project Manager Aileen Murray says visitors will be met with the unexpected during the tour.
