AUDIO: 64th Cork City Sports International Athletics Meet

64th Cork City Sports provides welcome workout for Irish athletes.
Ireland’s sole European Athletics Permit Meeting took place last night at the CIT track. Athletes from some thirty countries took part in the event, including a number of high profile athletes such as the current 50km Walk world champion Robert Heffernan, European Indoor 800m silver medalist Mark English and Irish Indoor 3000m record holder Mary Cullen.
While the results on the night didn't match the expectations of the buoyant Cork crowd, the athletes themselves were pleased with the meet.
Following their races, they took the time to give a few words to Red FM Sport about how the night went for them.
