AUDIO: Crowley Explains McCarthy Exit
Cork GAA have confirmed that Cian McCarthy has left the Senior Hurling Panel. The 25 year old Sarsfields clubman, who came on as a substitite in the closing minutes of last weeks league win over Galway, has told Jimmy Barry Murphy and his selectors he no longer wishes to be included in the squad. A statement released by management reads as follows; "Cian has been a great servant to Cork hurling, but now wants to take a break from the inter-county scene due to work and other commitments," said manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy. "We are very sorry lose him but we respect his wishes and the door is open should he chose to return." We've spoken to Cork Selector Johnny Crowley about McCarthy's exit, click PLAY above to hear that interview. If you missed the team news for Sunday's clash against Tipperary you can find that here.
