Battlezone Preview - Ciaran Daly
(The MMA Clinic's Ciaran Daly (left) with RedFM's Ruairi O'Hagan and team mate Sean Tobin) With just over three weeks to go to the biggest MMA event ever to hit Cork, the fighters are deep into their training camps for what will for the most of them be the biggest fights of their careers so far. Battlezone takes place in Neptune Stadium on July 6th, and Cork's RedFM are media partners to the event. One man who is certain to make an impression on the night is Ciaran Daly. The phenomenally talented Corkman, who's amassed a hugely impressive unbeaten 6-0-2 record in his short career to date, fights Dubliner Paul Lawrence, himself a big prospect in the sport. The pair fought out to a majority draw when they met at the MMA Clinic's Amateur Fight Night in Cork recently, and anticipation is high for the rematch between the two powerful fighters. I caught up with Ciaran last night and first asked him whether he thought he won the first fight - click PLAY above to hear the interview. And you can judge for yourself by watching their fight below (featuring a bonus appearance by me at the end as the MC!) Ruairi
