Extended Interview: Cork Manager Brian Cuthbert League Preview
The Cork Senior Footballers open their Allianz National Football League campaign hosting Dublin at Pairc Ui Rinn tomorrow Sunday. Manager Brian Cuthbert has named a team that retains 11 of the players that started last summers All Ireland Quarter Final defeat to Mayo. Ken O'Halloran is named in goals, with Clonakilty's Tom Clancy at full back, Fermoy's Tomás Clancy and Mallow clubman Loughrey are in the corners. Eoin Cadogan of Douglas starts at centre back with Bishopstown's Jamie O'Sullivan and Brian O'Driscoll of Tadhg MacCarthaigh on the wings It's a midfield partnership of youth and experience as Macrooms Fintan Goold links up with St Finbarrs clubman Ian Maguire. Ballydesmonds Donnacha O'Connor is at centre half forward flanked by Castlehavens Mark Collins and Colm O'Driscoll of Tadhg MacCarthaigh, while O'Donovan Rossa's Donal Og Hodnett assumes the full forward position, with Ballyclough's Colm O'Neill and Castlehavens Brian Hurley in the corners. Captain Michael Shields, Patrick Kelly, Daniel Goulding and Noel Galvin are still unavailable for selection as they continue their recovery from injury.
