Nigel Owens to referee Ireland v New Zealand

Nigel Owens has been chosen to referee the Rugby World Cup Quarter Final between Ireland and New Zealand on Saturday.

The 48 year old will take charge of proceedings at the Tokyo Stadium, and will be assisted by France's Pascal Gauzere and Australia's Angus Gardner.

The Welshman is refereeing at his fourth World Cup, and took charge of the 2015 final between New Zealand and Australia. 

Taking charge of the other quarter finals are Jerome Garces for England v Australia, Jaco Peyper takes charge of Wales v France and Wayne Barnes is the man in the middle for Japan v South Africa.
