Southside & District Award Winners

Cork dual star Rena Buckley was named as the Southside & District overall award winner on Friday night in the Cork International Airport Hotel. The 25 year old led the Cork ladies football team to their 7th All Ireland title in 8 years last year and was part of the Rebels camogie team won won the National League and reached the All Ireland final. The overall team award went to Wilton United Ladies soccer team following their treble winning season in 2012. The Cork league, the Munster Cup and the Intermediate National Cup final. Barbara O'Connell accepted the award on behalf of the team. The Hall of Fame award winner is Irish rugby legend Tom Kiernan. Tom was capped for Ireland 56 times, captained the Lions and coached Munster on the night the Reds beat the All Blacks in 1978.
