Sunderland have dumped arch-rivals Newcastle out of the Premier League.

The Black Cats completed another miraculous escape last night with a 3-0 win over Everton at the Stadium of Light. The win moved four points clear of the bottom three going into the final weekend of the season and condemned Newcastle to the Championship for next season.

Norwich's 4-2 win over Watford wasn't enough to save them from going-down - the Canaries have moved level with Newcastle but can now longer avoid the drop.

In last night's other Premier League tie, Liverpool and Chelsea played-out a 1-all draw at AnfieldChristian Benteke scored an injury-time equaliser for the home side after a brilliant solo goal from Eden Hazard had looked to be enough for Chelsea to take all the points.

Ireland manager Martin O'Neill will name his squad this afternoon ahead of the upcoming friendly against the Netherlands. The visit of the Dutch to the Aviva Stadium will be the final game before O'Neill finalises his squad for Euro2016. Team captain Robbie Keane is expected to feature after his return from injury, but several players involved in the end-of-season play-offs are likely to be left-out.

Kerry await the winners of tonight's Electric Ireland Munster Minor semi-final between Cork and Limerick. The Kerry Minors registered a seven-point win over Clare in last night's semi-final to secure their place in the provincial final. Tonight's semi-final at Pairc Ui Rinn will throw-in at 7pm.

Later this evening, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell are all in the field at The Players Championship at Sawgrass.
