The 2020 Irish Grand National Will Not Take Place

Horse Racing Ireland made the announcement this afternoon
The event at Fairyhouse was postponed back in April due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It had been planned to take place later in the year.
HRI say the decision has been made to cancel the 2020 race as a result of limited attendances at race meetings.
The cancellation means that prize-money will lift to two of the winter’s big staying handicap chases:
The Ladbrokes Troytown at Navan on November 8
and the Bar One Porterstown Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse on November 29.
