The Academy of Popular Music is delighted to present ‘Mini American Idol’ Singing Competition this November, in association with the Cork City Council. The judge is American Idol Vocal Coach Adriana McPhee who is coming from LA and will be judging the final on Friday 6th November!

A blacktie Charity Ball is taking place in Cork City Hall on 10th October to celebrate the achievements of a team of wheelchair users who rallied behind an 85% paralysed man’s attempt to complete a 55,000 step ‘marathon’ in an Exoskeleton, supplied by www.rollingball.ie, to raise funds to keep the device in Ireland.
The event, which is called the ‘Walk with Me Challenge’, is being run by the charity Helpful Steps , in conjunction with The Lions Clubs of Ireland , and all proceeds will go towards the purchase of the exoskeleton machine, which is based in a public gym, Elite, in Cork, so that all suitable wheelchair users in Ireland can access it.

The coopsuperstores.ie Macra na Feirme Annual Conference was officially launched at the Rochestown Park Hotel on Friday 21st August. The annual conference, better known as the Rally, is being hosted by Muskerry Macra this year. Rally chairperson Margaret Galvin addressed the crowd, giving detail on what to expect from the weekend. The theme of this year’s agricultural conference is Inspiration for this Generation – taking the next step. It promises to be a positive and interactive event and will showcase some exceptional farms in the Muskerry region.

The Mercy Hospital Foundation is calling on companies, schools and individuals to participate in Genes Day on Friday 16th October and raise funds for an 18 month research study that could change the way bowel cancer patients are treated in Ireland in the future.
