5 beaches to visit in Cork

Now that the 5 km restrictions have been lifted, check out these beautiful beaches that are right on your doorstep !
1. Barleycove, Goleen
Barleycove is a sandy beach in a sheltered bay between Mizen Head and Lyroe peninsulas close to the Southwesterly tip of Ireland. The beach is cleaned regularly and the beach has even been awarded a Blue Flag status. This is a great spot for a walk with the dogs or a family day out swimming. An estuary running alongside it and into the Atlantic makes it safer for children to swim compared to other beaches. It is lifeguarded on weekends during the bathing season and there is a noticeboard with visitor information on the beach.
