Busted Are Back!
The original line-up is returning to the stage!
The rumours have been confirmed!
Busted are back and this time with the original three members, James Bourne, Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson.
Charlie Simpson left the band in 2005 after getting sick of playing pop songs meaning Busted were no more. He tried his hand at another band called Fightstar and also attempted a solo career. However none of these ventures were lucrative and the bright lights of a Busted reunion tour tempted him to return.
James Bourne and Matt Willis have been kept busy over the past couple of years playing in the pop supergroup McBusted, a fusion of Busted and McFly whose members consist of Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter, Tom Fletcher and Harry Judd.
To announce the tour, Busted released a six minute video where they recall the days of old and reflect on Charlie's departure from the group.
In the video, Charlie Simpson says “I felt a huge amount of guilt when I left Busted the first time because I knew that they didn’t want to stop and that was hard to deal with. We were really good friends and you don’t want to upset anyone you care about. But staying in the band at that time could have risked our friendship.”
The ten year wait for a reunion is finally over. You can catch Busted in Dublin's 3Arena on May 31st 2016 and Belfast's SSE Arena on May 30th 2016. Tickets, priced from €52 go on sale this Friday November 13th at 9am.
