Chris Cornell Passes Away Aged 52
Chris Cornell, the lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave has died.
In a statement issued to The Associated Press by his representative, Cornell's death on Wednesday night in Detroit is being described as "sudden and unexpected". The cause of death is yet unknown and family of the star has asked for privacy as the coroner determines the cause.
Cornell is best known for his time in grunge bands Soundgarden and Audioslave and for singing You Know My Name, the theme song to the James Bond movie, Casino Royale.
Cornell was performing with Soundgarden earlier in the week in Detroit with photos emerging on Twitter of his last performance.
