Cork's RedFM Present Walking On Cars Live At The Marquee
The news was announced this morning.
Aiken Promotions today announced that Walking on Cars will perform Live at the Marquee Cork for the first time this summer when they take to the stage on Saturday 9 July. Tickets go on sale this Friday 26 February at 9am from Ticketmaster and usual outlets.
Hailing from Dingle, Co Kerry, Walking On Cars (Patrick Sheehy: vocals, Sorcha Durham: keyboards, Dan Devane: guitars, Paul Flannery: bass, Evan Hadnett: drums) have dominated Ireland’s live scene, garnering a huge loyal fanbase. Creating anthemic balladry combined with booming guitar riffs and sing-a-long melodies, their epic songs have been already streamed over 5 million times. Smash singles Catch Me If You Can and Two Stones were both Top 30 hits in Ireland, with Catch Me If You Can topping the Irish iTunes charts. The As We Fly South and Hand in Hand EPs followed, as the band hunkered down in the studio with the MyRiot production team of Tim Bran and Roy Kerr (London Grammar, Bloc Party, Foxes) to record their debut album which was released last month. The album, Everything this Way, features 12 tracks including the crowd favourite Speeding Cars. Gigwise described them as “The sound of Ireland’s next huge export” and last year the band sold outthree London headline shows including The Scala and Electric Ballroom.
Tickets priced €28 go on sale on Friday 26 February at 9am from all usual Ticketmaster outlets
