Father Ted cast left shocked after the sudden passing of co-star Rynagh O’Grady
Father Ted’s Rynagh O’Grady’s death leaves co-stars shocked and saddened.
The Dublin actress Rynagh, 67, best known for her role as Craggy Island shop owner on Father Ted passed away suddenly this week.
Joe Rooney best known as Father Damo talked about the loss saying ‘’we called up Rynagh a few months ago and she was in great form’’ he then added ‘’ I was deeply shocked that she died suddenly this week’’.
The nation was also saddened after her death was announced by Abbey Theatre who described her as a "beloved friend and colleague". Director of the Abbey Theatre, Graham McLaren took a moment to remember his dear friend saying ‘’I would sneak into the back row of the Abbey to watch her hush a hysterical audience with a look, then lead them through a speech full of heart, humanity & justice. Irish theatre got a lot darker today”.
