Future Islands Announce Cork Show

Future Islands have announced a Cork show as part of their Irish tour

The band will take to the stage in Cork Opera House on July 4th 2017 as well as Dolan's Warehouse in Limerick on July 3rd and Iveagh Gardens, Dublin on July 6th.

The tour comes off the back of their soon to be released new album The Far Field on April 7th. The Far Field refines and builds on the breakthroughs of their 2014 album Singles, bursting with undeniable hooks and disarmingly honest lyrics written by Samuel T. Herring (vocals, lyrics), William Cashion (bass, guitars) and Gerrit Welmers (keyboards, programming).

The band began writing new material in January 2016 on the coast of North Carolina, and continued throughout the year in Baltimore before road-testing these songs at a series of secret shows under fake names. Later that year, they travelled to Los Angeles to record with Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton at the legendary Sunset Sound, where everyone from The Beach Boys to Prince have laid down masterpieces.

Blondie’s Debbie Harry also makes a guest appearance, in a duet with Herring on penultimate track ‘Shadows’.

Tickets for the Cork Opera House and Dolan's Warehouse shows will go on sale from venue box offices as well as Tickmaster and other usual outlets on Friday March 3rd at 10am. Tickets for their Iveagh Gardens show are on sale now.
