Sam Smith Confirms James Bond Theme Song
The song will appear on the upcoming James Bond movie, Spectre.
Sam Smith has confirmed that he will perform the theme song for the upcoming James Bond movie 'Spectre'. The much anticipated single will be called "Writing's On the Wall".
The singer hinted at the accolade on his Instagram page last night by posting a picture of a ring with a logo that resembled the Spectre logo.
It didn't take long for him to confirm the news on his Twitter page this morning to his 3.47 million followers. The "In The Lonely Hour" star said he was very excited to be part of the James Bond legacy and that performing the theme song is one of the highlights of his career. He also used his Twitter account to release the artwork for the single and to announce that it is already available to pre-order.

Sam Smith, who performed at last weekend's Electric Picnic Festival, will become the second youngest artist to be chosen for the famous movie opener at the age of 24. He follows in the footsteps of Sheena Easton who was 22-years-old when she sang the theme song for "For Your Eyes Only". Other previous artists to have the honour of singing the iconic theme song include Shirley Bassey, Lulu, Madonna and more recently, Adele.
Smith currently lends his vocals to Disclosure's most recent single "Omen".
