Mrs Brown's Boys Voted Best British Sitcom of 21st Century
The show written by Dublin's Brendan O'Carroll has gained a huge fanbase in Ireland and the UK.
The BBC1 comedy show focuses on the Brown family and has been voted the title of the Best Sitcom of the 21st Century after Radio Times magazine polled 14,000 of their readers online.
There has been a mixed reaction to the news with many disagreeing with the top result as the show has always seemed to have a love/hate reaction.
The show which is the brainchild of Brendan O'Carroll, who also stars as Agnes Brown, always manages to draw huge audiences with a recent live episode attracting a massive 8.82 million viewers. However it seems critics find it difficult to warm to the show.
Critics reviews didn't seem to phase the show's fans it seems with the Best Sitcom of the 21st Century title taking O'Connor by surprise.
Upon hearing the news he said: "Lost for words... and that doesn't happen to me very often. Myself and Jenny (O'Connor's wife & co-star) are dancing around the living room. I can die happy now... but I'll take my time..."
