Pat Kenny To Receive IFTA Lifetime Award
The presenter joins the IFTA hall of fame!
The veteran broadcaster will be honoured by at the Irish Film and Television Awards for his contribution to Irish television over the years.
Kenny recently signed a new deal with TV3 to host a brand new current affairs series with Colette Fitzpatrick after working in RTÉ for 41 year and a brief stint in UTV Ireland. The host also presents his own show on Newstalk.
Talking about the award, Pat said;
“I am humbled to be acknowledged by the academy alongside broadcasters such a Gay Byrne and Cathal O’Shannon, who paved the way for broadcasters such as myself,” Pat said in a statement.
“To be recognised by my peers in this way, and to follow in the footsteps of such an illustrious group of people who have previously received this award is an absolute honour for me.”
Other individuals who have previously been honoured with the accolade are Brendan O'Carrol, Fionnula Flanagan, Maureen O'Hara, Neil Jordan, Liam Neeson, President Michael D. Higgins and Kenny's Late Late Show predecessor, Gay Byrne.
The IFTAs will take place in a month's time on October 7th.
