The Academic Announced As Support For The Rolling Stones
Mullingar band The Academic have been announced as the support act for the upcoming Rolling Stones gig in Dublin.
The four-piece band will open for the rock legends in Croke Park next month.
Speaking about the announcement, The Academic said: “How do we feel about playing a show with The Rolling Stones at Croke Park? I think we are all still getting over that phone call! To be sharing the stage with the greatest rock and roll band of all time in a venue that we’ve always dreamed about performing in is a bit surreal. We grew up on their music. Now that we’re playing Croker with them it’s a dream fulfilled!”
The Rolling Stones will kick off their European tour Stones - No Filter in Dublin on May 19th and are expected to arrive in the capital a week before the show to do promotion for the rest of the shows which stretch across the UK, France, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland.
Extra tickets for the show have been put on sale and are available to purchase on Ticketmaster.
