The First Batch Of Acts Have Been Announced For Indiependence 2016
The Mitchelstown Festival makes a return for 2016!
Indiependence Music & Arts Festival returns to Mitchelstown, Cork, this summer following its biggest year to date in 2015. Record numbers attended INDIE15 and now in its eleventh year, INDIE16 welcomes both new and familiar faces to Deer Farm from Friday July 29 - Sunday July 31.
UK indie legends Editors, The Kooks and Idlewild are set for #INDIE16 alongside some of the biggest Irish names of recent times in Bell X1, Ash and The Strypes. INDIE favourites over the years Hudson Taylor, The Blizzards and The Frank & Walters both make welcome returns. As always Indiependence is Ireland's best festival to find new and rising acts and INDIE16 will feature some of the best around in Little Hours, King Kong Company, Pleasure Beach, Brian Deady, CC Brez, Saint Sister, Coasts and Stephanie Rainey.
Three tiers of early bird tickets for INDIE16 have already sold out, with weekend camping tickets for the festival now on sale at €119. INDIE fans will be happy to see the return of the Beer Hall Stage, Comedy & Spoken Word, the Silent Disco, Festi-Huts and a wide variety of food options over the course of the weekend, with more announcements imminent.
Indiependence has grown steadily since its first year in Mitchelstown and has become one of the country’s biggest and most popular music festivals since relocating to the scenic Deer Farm under the Galtee Mountains. It has annually combined an enticing line-up of great international and national acts, providing the stage for many superb Irish acts to play their first festival before moving on to bigger things (just ask Kodaline!).
Despite its increased capacity, INDIE15 sold out in advance so festival goers shouldn’t leave it too late to get their tickets for this summer. Further information about INDIE16 can be found online at www.indiependencefestival.com or www.facebook.com/INDIEPENDENCEFEST
