Top Irish Performance of 2016 Revealed!
Irish Ticketmaster users have voted for their favourite gig of 2016.
The Ticket of the Year in Ireland was awarded to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for his double header of concerts in Croke Park. The Boss played two nights in GAA headquarters to a sold out crowd and after many positive reviews he has officially been voted the best act of 2016.
Other events in the top list included Electric Picnic, placed second, Longitude, Beyoncé, Adele, Justin Bieber, Muse, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Stone Roses. Kodaline were the only Irish act to make it into the top ten.
From the poll we have also learned the most anticipated gigs of 2017. Coldplay top the poll in Croke Park for the most anticipated gig followed by Robbie Williams at the Aviva Stadium. Electric Picnic, Drake and Radiohead are also getting fans excited for their 2017 gigs.
The International Ticket of the Year went to Coldplay for the first leg of their Head Full of Dreams Tour. Speaking about the honour, frontman Chris Martin said, "We’re honoured to receive the Ticketmaster Ticket of the Year award. Thank you to everyone who voted for us.
“The shows that we’ve played this year have been very special to us so it’s wonderful to know that they’ve been special to the fans as well.”
