Xtra Factor Has Been Axed

The X Factor spin-off show, The Xtra Factor has been axed.
The show will not return when the next series of the reality show returns later this year but will instead be replaced by a digital version of the show.
The Xtra Factor has previously been hosted by the likes of Fearne Cotton, Holly Willoughby, Caroline Flack, Olly Murs, Rochelle Humes, Melvin Odoom and most recently Rylan Clark-Neal and Matt Edmonson.
X Factor bosses have said the axe of the show has nothing to do with Clark-Neal and Edmonson's time on the show and instead it was a decision to move extra content to an online audience.
Richard Holloway, managing director at Thames TV said: “In the past year there has been an increase in digital engagement and online audiences around The X Factor.
“In light of this, ITV’s strategy to focus their efforts on digital means The Xtra Factor on linear television has come to its natural end.”
