Zayn Malik Debuts Song About Perrie Edwards In First Solo Performance
As you can imagine, Twitter went into a frenzy!
Zayn Malik has performed solo for the first time since leaving One Direction.
The Bradford native took to Tonight With Jimmy Fallon in the U.S. to debut his next single "It's You". The song, which is a follow up to his number one hit Pillowtalk, was written about the break up of his relationship with Little Mix star Perrie Edwards with lyrics such as “Am I wrong for wanting us to make it?”. The couple were together for four years, two of which they were engaged before the relationship broke apart a few months after Malik decided to leave One Direction and go solo.
Malik recently spoke to radio presenter Zayn Low on Beats 1 and the host made his impression of the song clear by saying “There’s a song on the record called It’s You which is, to me, I can tell, a real centrepiece for the album. Vocally, certainly – it’s about the break-up of your relationship, clearly.”
The singer responded “I just felt like I needed to put myself out there on that just because it was a form of therapy for me and it did help get me through some s***.”
The artwork for Zayn's upcoming album was also revealed on the American talk show by Jimmy Fallon as he held up the cover which showed a picture of Zayn as a little boy with sleeves of tattoos.
The album which is titled Mind Of Mine will be released on March 25th, exactly a year to the date of Malik's shock One Direction exit.
